Returned to SA last year for the first time in 28 years as my son was born in False Bay hospital and it was time we returned for a visit. Met up again with a few old friends and visited some old places I used to frequent like Francoise and the Cricket Club. A great 2 weeks. Will be backin 2008 and again in 2010 for the soccer world cup.

I was posted to Capetown Radio (ZSC/ZSJ) in the 50s. I was only about 18 at that time and the station at the time was not far from the Kommetje Hotel. We used to have a station mini bus for transport to Fish Hoek and Simonstown and the train to Capetown. What a long time ago that now seems but is still fresh in my memory... The cape is a wonderful place and a superb climate. When I first came on one of the Union Castle Ships Elvis had not even made his first record !!! Anyone who can concur with those far off days is welcome to email me. I live in Somerset in the UK which is a billion miles away from my memories!!! Robert Woods Former Royal Navy Radio Op.

Hi there. I have been away from Noordhoek and Fish Hoek for over 3 years... I do miss it and the duties that I performed as the local city councillor for Noordhoek, Sun Valley and Capri and of course... Site 5. I now live in New Zealand and in many ways life is pretty similar to the Cape. However I still miss it. Cheers Alan Phillips.
